NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman Isabella Littler (Fayette, Maine) scored off a Sadie Tirrell (Naples, Maine) pass in the 53rd minute to lift the Monks (3-3, 3-0 GNAC) past Albertus Magnus College (0-5, 0-5 GNAC), 1-0, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) field hockey play on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Sophomore Maya Waryas (Bellows Falls, Vt.) nearly snapped the scoreless stalemate when her shot clanged off the post on a penalty corner play at the 48:10 mark. The Monks continued to apply consistent offensive pressure and the effort paid off at the 52:18 timestamp when Littler connected for her second NCAA goal – and second game-winner – of her career.
