Standish, ME - SO Julia Ostrowski (Albany, NY)
netted the game winner less than two minutes into the contest and
the Monks went on to defeat Lasell College 4-0. This marks the
fourth shut-out of the season for St. Joe's as the squad improves
to 6-3 overall.
Ostrowski's goal came off a pass from JR captain Gina
Gaetani (Auburn, ME) and Gaetani then set-up FY
Kayla Nowell (Bridgton, ME) for a goal at 3:45.
The two-goal lead would hold up into half-time as Lasell managed
just two shots on goal.
After more than ten minutes of scoreless action in the second
stanza, SR captain Darcey Ward (Dresden, ME)
connected off a perfectly executed penalty corner from FY
Maria Arsenault (Berlin, NH) and SO
Jillian Kimball (Albany Township, ME) to put the
Monks up 3-0.
St. Joe's capped off the scoring at 65:17 after a scramble in the
circle led to a goal by Nowell, assisted by Ostrowski.
FY Colleen Grant (Bourne, MA) made four saves in
her second win of the season.
The Monks travel to Husson for a 6 PM contest on Saturday,
September 29th.
