Five SJC Field Hockey Players Receive NAC All-Academic Honors

STANDISH, ME - The North Atlantic Conference has announced the 2008-09 Fall All-Academic Honorees and five Lady Monks' field hockey players have been selected to represent Saint Joseph's College.

To be recognized, a student-athlete must have reached junior academic standing and completed a minimum of two years in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. In all, 65 athletes from seven different fall sports and 10 participating institutions were honored.

Allison Zellers ‘10 (Concord, NH/Psychology major), Julia Ostrowski ‘10 (Albany, NY/Finance and Accounting), Kelly Emerson ‘09 (Vassalboro, ME/Communications), Lauren Snow ‘09 (Dover-Foxcroft, ME/Exercise Science) and Kerrie Boutin ‘10 (Georgetown, MA/Elementary Education) have all been recognized for excellence in the classroom.

With a 15-6 record in 2008, the Saint Joseph's field hockey team is coming off the best season in program history. The Lady Monks advanced to the NAC Championship game in the team's first season as a league member and participated in the ECAC Championship Tournament for the second-straight year in ‘08.
