Parent Named GNAC Rookie of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's College freshman Michalia Parent (Westborough, Mass.) has been selected as the Field Hockey Rookie of the Week.

Parent scored a goal in all three of the Monks' games last week with a pair of game-winners and an assist to help Saint Joseph's get off to a 2-1 start to the 2015 campaign. The freshman forward registered a goal and an assist in a victory over New England College on Wednesday and slammed home the game-winner versus Mount Ida College on Saturday.

Parent is currently tied for the team-lead in goals (3) and ranks second on the squad in total points (7), shots (19) and shots on goal (17). The weekly conference honor is the first of her collegiate career.

Saint Joseph's will host GNAC-rival Rivier University this Saturday at 12:00 PM.
