HISTORICALLY SPEAKING

With the victory, Saint Joseph's improves to 7-1 in the history of the series with Salem State University, a team the Monks defeated by a 1-0 margin in Massachusetts last fall. Six of the Monks' seven wins over the Vikings have come by way of the shutout as Salem State has not scored versus Saint Joseph's since defeating the Royal Blue by a 1-0 score on October 12th 2011.

Today's scoring total counts as the Monks' highest since SJC defeated Bay Path College, 13-0, on September 7th, 2009. The offensive output marks the third time St. Joe's has reached double digits on the scoring ledger in history of the program.

NEXT!

Both teams resume play versus conference foes this Saturday, when Saint Joseph's plays at Rivier University in a 1:00 PM start and Salem State hosts Bridgewater State University in a 12:00 PM start.
