Pomerleau Chosen as GNAC Corvias Field Hockey Player of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been announced and Saint Joseph's College sophomore forward Libby Pomerleau (Limerick, Maine) has been chosen as the GNAC Corvias Field Hockey Player of the Week.

Pomerleau netted three goals with a pair of game-winners in a 2-0 week for the Monks. The sophomore forward potted the clincher in a 2-1 win over previously-unbeaten Springfield College on Wednesday and scored both of the Monks' goals in a 2-0 win over Mount Ida College on Saturday.

For Pomerleau, the Player of the Week honor is a career-first. The 2016 GNAC Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Conference honoree earned three Rookie of the Week accolades last fall.

In just 28 career games, Pomerleau has netted 24 goals with 10 assists for 58 total points with 11 game-winning strikes. She already ranks second in program history in game-winners, fifth in goals, and seventh in points.

Saint Joseph's (4-3, 3-0 GNAC) will host UMaine-Farmington tonight in a non-conference tilt slated to start at 5:00 PM.
