Saint Joseph's Receives Votes in Recent Penn Monto/NFHCA DIII National Poll

STANDISH, Maine – The sixth Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll has been announced and Saint Joseph's College has received votes.

The Monks, 14-1 overall and 6-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play so far this fall, barely misses the top 20 and is the second listed under the 'others receiving votes' section with 33 points.

The first team listed in the section is Denison University, which received 53 points.

In the midst of a historic season, the Monks rank highly in a number of statistical categories. St. Joe's, led by 14th-year Head Coach Rupert Lewis, leads the country in assists per game (3.73), ranks second in penalty corners per game (14.27), points per game (13.47), scoring margin (4.27), and shutouts per game (0.73), fourth in goals per game (4.87) and scoring average (4.79), fifth in goals against average (0.53), sixth in winning percentage (.933), and eighth in save percentage (.846).

Middlebury College (13-0) sits atop the week six rankings with 1,291 points and is followed by Messiah College (13-0, 1,221 points), Tufts University (11-1, 1,113), Rowan University (14-0, 1,073), and The College of New Jersey (10-2, 939) in the top five.

Including Middlebury and Tufts, eight New England programs are listed in the top 20 as #11 Bowdoin College (10-3), #12 Babson College (10-3), #13 Hamilton College (10-3), #16 Williams College (8-3), #17 Trinity College (9-4), and #20 Amherst College (8-4) help fill out this week's rankings.

Saint Joseph's will play at UMaine-Farmington on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
