BANGOR, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (3-0) defeated Husson University (0-2), 2-1, in a non-conference field hockey contest on Thursday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Monks scored just 1:59 into the game when sophomore Emma Rutledge (Alfred, Maine) found the back of the cage off an Alexandra Belaire (Greene, Maine) pass on a penalty corner play.

Husson made things interesting when Adelle Foss scored off a corner as time wound down in the second quarter, but the 2-1 lead remained until the final buzzer as neither team was able to hit pay dirt over the closing 30 minutes.
