12 Field Hockey Players Claim National Academic Honors

GILBERT, Ariz. — This year, 1,944 student-athletes from 157 Division III institutions earned recognition on the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

The Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-2020 academic year.

A total of 12 Saint Joseph's College players have earned the high academic honor, as senior Kylee Veilleux (Sabattus, Maine), juniors Alexis Charles (Fryeburg, Maine) and Alexandria Simpson (Pascoag, R.I.), sophomores Isabella Anton (Mount Vernon, N.H.), Olivia Esposito (North Reading, Mass.), and Emma Dubuc (Burlington, Vt.) and freshmen Megan Quirion (Oakland, Maine), Cailin Seavey (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine), Kristina Smith (Somersworth, N.H.), Emma Sullivan (Manchester, N.H.), Anna Walker (Scarborough, Maine), and Molly McCluskey (Orono, Maine) are among the individuals listed on the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

Wesleyan University led all institutions with the most National Academic Squad selections, placing 25 student-athletes on the list. Johns Hopkins University and Williams College tied for the second-most honorees — each institution had 24 student-athletes recognized.
