Charles, Simpson, & Rutledge Named as 2020 Field Hockey Captains

STANDISH Maine - Three field hockey members were selected as captains for the upcoming 2020 season. These members include rising junior forward Emma Rutledge (Alfred, Maine), and two rising seniors – defender Alexis Charles (Fryeburg, Maine), and goalkeeper Alexandria Simpson (Pascoag, R.I.). Rutledge played in all 22 games and started in 21 as a sophomore, she led the team in goals with 12 and had eight assists for a total of 32 points with four game-winning goals in the 2019 season. Charles played in 19 games and started in seven as a junior defender and Simpson who was the starting goalkeeper started in all 22 games as a junior and had a total of 71 saves and 17 wins on the season. All three went through an application process and were interviewed by head coach Rupert Lewis and three other department members.
