On November 9th, 2016 the Saint Joseph's College field hockey team edged #10 Montclair State, 1-0, in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament at Sprague Field in Montclair, New Jersey.

NOTEWORTHY:

The victory was the first NCAA Tournament triumph in program history as the Monks advanced to the "Sweet 16" with the win
Freshman forward Libby Pomerleau (Limerick, Maine) scored with 16:58 remaining in the second half
Sophomore goalkeeper Megan Baker (Gorham, Maine) made eight saves in the upset victory
Sophomore defender Kayla Veilleux (Sabattus, Maine) made a huge defensive save with 9:09 left in the contest
