ON THIS DATE - Monks Blank Lancers in ECAC Quarterfinal

On November 12th, 2008 the Saint Joseph's College field hockey team defeated Worcester State University, 2-0, in an ECAC Tournament Quarterfinal match-up at Lakeside Field

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Courtney Rague '11 (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) netted the game-winning goal in the 53rd minute
  • Kayla Nowell '11 (Bridgton, Maine) capped the game-scoring with her 21st goal of the season in the 61st minute
  • Meaghan Johnson '12 (Portland, Maine/Cheverus) made three saves in goal
  • With the victory, the 2008 Monks broke the record for wins in a season with 15 - the previous mark was held by the '07 squad, which posted a 14-7 record
  • Saint Joseph's outshot Worcester State 22-3 and held a 17-4 advantage in penalty corners
