15 Field Hockey Players Claim National Academic Honors

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — This year, over 2,050 student-athletes from more than 140 Division III institutions earned recognition on the 2020 NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad. A total of 15 Saint Joseph's College student-athletes have claimed the high academic accolade.

The Division III National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher through the first semester of the 2020-2021 academic year.

Seniors Alexis Charles (Fryeburg, Maine) and Alexandria Simpson (Pascoag, R.I.), juniors Isabella Anton (Mount Vernon, N.H.), Alexis Beardsley (Livermore, Maine), Emma Dubuc (Burlington, Vt.), Olivia Esposito (North Reading, Mass.), sophomores Kelsey Larson (Epsom, N.H.), Molly McCluskey (Orono, Maine), Megan Quirion (Oakland, Maine), Cailin Seavey (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine), Emma Sullivan (Manchester, N.H.), and Anna Walker (Scarborough, Maine) and freshmen Kaelyn Blais (Berlin, N.H.), Megan Mourmouras (Biddeford, Maine), and Cailyn Wesley (Peabody, Mass.) have earned the national honor after meeting the high academic standards.

Charles and Simpson claim special mention for having earned NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad honors during each of their four years at Saint Joseph's.

Johns Hopkins University led all institutions with the most National Academic Squad selections, placing 28 student-athletes on the list. Haverford College and the University of Rochester tied for the second-most honorees — each institution had 27 student-athletes recognized.
