STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been announced and Saint Joseph's College freshman Kassidy Collins (Gardiner, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Field Hockey Goalkeeper of the Week.
In two wins for the Monks last week, Collins posted a 1.00 goals against average and a .714 save percentage. The freshman netminder made four saves in a shutout victory over Anna Maria College on Saturday.
In four games – all starts – this fall, Collins owns a 4-0 record with a 1.25 goals against average and a .706 save percentage. The shutout performance versus Anna Maria was the first clean sheet of her collegiate career.
With the honor for Collins, the Monks have now had a GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week recipient in seven-consecutive seasons. During this span, Megan Baker '19 garnered the honor seven times while Emma Astbury '17 and Ally Simpson '21 were both named conference keeper of the week on one occasion.
Saint Joseph's (4-1, 1-0 GNAC) will host UMaine-Farmington at 7:00 PM on Wednesday.
