Vinci Named GNAC Athlete & Rookie of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been released and Saint Joseph's College freshman Simon Vinci (Peabody, Mass.) has been named as the GNAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete and Rookie of the Week.

In a meet featuring athletes from all three NCAA divisions, Vinci placed third in the shot put with a 13.67m toss at the Bates College Invitational on Saturday. He has now been honored by the conference with a weekly award for three-consecutive reporting periods.

His 14.50m Shot Put distance at Southern Maine on December 14th ranks as the third-longest in the New England region and 34th in all of NCAA DIII Men's Track & Field.

Saint Joseph's will compete at Southern Maine on Saturday.
