Saint Joseph's College Track and Field competes at Maine State Pine Tree Classic

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College outdoor track & field programs competed in the Maine State Pine Tree Classic this weekend at Bowdoin College.

Bates ran away with the men's team win, finishing with a team score of 179 over the Huskies of Southern Maine 138. Bates' Jacob Goff was named the Fred D. Tootell Most Valuable Field Athlete of the Meet Award. On the Women's side, Bowdoin came out on top with 161 pts followed by Colby College with 131. For the Monks, the women placed fifth with 64 points and the men finished with a sixth-place effort for 64 points.

The Monks achieved multiple program records over the two-day event. Junior, Dylan Dickey (Laconia, N.H) etched his name in the history books with a facility record-breaking throw of 56.07m (183'11") to win the meet. Additionally, the St. Joe's Men's 4x400 relay squad continued their triumphal season by winning the event with a time of 3:34.06. 

FOR THE RECORD:

  • Senior Ryan Farr (Gorham, Maine) sprinted in for a new program record in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.43
  • Senior Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) set a new record with her Long Jump effort with a best jump of 5.16m (16'11.25")
  • Tudum Monday (Lewiston, Maine) now holds both hurdle event records with his 110-hurdle effort clocking in a 16.25 effort
  • Sophomore Jacob Pelletier (Augusta, Maine) cruised in for a 16:07.98 5000-meter run program best
  • Farr, Ricker, Corriveau, Doe in a collective effort raced to a first-place finish to set a new program record in the 4x400-meter relay (3:24.06)

TOP MARKS – WOMEN:

  • Senior Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) won the 400-hurdles with a 1:09.54, placed second in the Long Jump (5.16m / 16'11.25"), and finished third in the 100-hurdles (16.25)
  • Freshman Breya Whitman (Auburn, Maine) finished second in the High Jump with a 1.52m (4'11.75") leap and placed ninth in the Triple Jump with a 9.47m (31'1") mark
  • Freshman Ava Moffett (Livermore Falls, Maine) finished third in the 5000-meter run (25:12.95) and fifth in her Steeplechase debut with a time of 15:03.35
  • Freshman Alexis Cowan (Nottingham, N.H.) finished fifth in the Triple Jump (9.84m / 32' 3.5") and sixth in the Long Jump (4.62m / 15' 2"). Cowan also set a collegiate best in the 100-meter dash with a time of 14.09
  • Senior Aaliyah WilsonFalcone (Winthrop, Maine) finished sixth in the Javelin with a 26.11m mark and twelfth in the Triple Jump (8.87m / 29' 1.25")
  • Freshman Audrey Bilodeau (Lewiston, Maine) finished seventh in the 100-hurdles (17.66) and twelfth in the 200-meter run (28.14)
  • Senior Abby O'Brien (Gorham, Maine) finished eighth in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 38.64m (126'9") and tenth in the Discus Throw for 30.74m (100'10")
  • Freshman Ava Smart (South Portland, Maine) placed eleventh in the 200-meter run with a time of 28.10
  • Sophomore Kate Luiz (Pittston, Maine) placed tenth in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:14.23
  • Sophomore Alexia Young (Rochester, N.H.) finished eleventh in the Long Jump (4.36m / 14' 3.75") and seventeenth in the 800-meter run with a huge personal best of 2:33.65
  • Bilodeau, Huntley, Smart, and Young finished third in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:27.99
  • Bilodeau, Cowan, Huntley, and Smart placed sixth in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 54.85 

TOP MARKS – MEN:

  • Junior Dylan Dickey (Laconia, N.H.) won the Javelin throw with a heave of 56.07m (183' 11")
  • Senior Ryan Farr (Gorham, Maine) placed fourth overall in the 200-meter dash performance (22.43) setting a new program record for the Monks
  • Sophomore Jacob Pelletier (Augusta, Maine) placed seventh in the 5000-meter run clocking in at 16:07.98
  • Freshman Younton Doe (Pawtucket, R.I.) finished fourth in the 400-meter run (50.10) and seventh in the 200-meter dash (22.66)
  • Sophomore Seth Quinney (Northwood, N.H.) placed fifth in the Hammer Throw with a 36.63m (120'2") effort
  • Freshman Andrew James (Bar Harbor, Maine) placed ninth in the Shot Put (11.89m)
  • Freshman Matthew Corriveau (Nottingham, N.H.) garnered a third-place finish in his Long Jump effort (5.97m / 19'7") and fifth-place effort in the High Jump with his 1.73m (5'8") mark
  • Freshman Tudum Monday (Lewiston, Maine) placed fourth in the High Jump (1.78m / 5'10") and sixth in the 110-hurdles (16.25)
  • Senior Nick Carmosino (Acton, Mass.) set a new personal best in the Steeplechase with an 11:00.40 mark for seventh place
  • Junior Ethan Shaw (Scarborough, Maine) placed eighth in the Steeplechase with an 11:38.71
  • Freshman Devonte Prom (Portland, Maine) jumped to an eighth-place finish in the Triple Jump (11.49m / 37'8.5") and tenth-place finish in the Long Jump (5.51m / 18'1")
  • Junior John McManus (Shrewsbury, Mass.) had a huge personal best to race to a 2:01.54 800-meter run finish for ninth overall
  • Freshman Emilson Zocolo (Lewiston, Maine) made his Steeplechase debut finishing ninth overall with a 12:01.06 effort
  • Junior Tyler Ricker (Montpelier, Vt.) captured a pair of tenth-place finishes in the 400-meter (51.64) and Triple Jump (11.06m / 36'3.5")
  • Senior Wesley Hundley (Kennebunk, Maine) finished tenth in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 35.33m (115'11")
  • Sophomore Abdirizak Abukar (Lewiston, Maine) sprinted to a tenth-place finish in the 100-meter dash for a time of 11.45
