Monks Well Represented on GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Awards Docket

STANDISH, Maine – The 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field major postseason honors have been announced and Saint Joseph's College is well represented among the honorees.

The SJC coaching staff was also recognized as the Men's Outdoor Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year. Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Mike Burleson, Associate Head Coach Tom Dann, and assistant coaches Troy Hendricks '23, Michael Roscoe, Rebecca Hefty, and Kris Mason '21 guided the Monks to their fourth-consecutive track & field (indoor and outdoor) title with 283 points – the most ever in a GNAC outdoor championship – 100 points ahead of runner-up Regis College. St. Joe's won 15 of the 21 events and featured 30 podium performances overall.

2024 GNAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year Brooklyn Goff (Biddeford, Maine) was an all-around performer for Saint Joseph's (Maine) this season and especially excelled in field events. She produced the best marks in the conference in both the high jump and the long jump, recording marks of 1.57m (5'1.75") and 5.44m (17'10.25"), respectively. Both marks placed her in the top-100 on the NCAA Division III Outdoor Qualifying List. Her league-best long jump mark was set at the GNAC Championships. She was also a GNAC Champion in the high jump, clearing 1.52m (4'11.75") at the conference event. Goff also participated in the heptathlon during the year and had a GNAC-best score of 3872. She was the GNAC Field Athlete of the Week in the week ending April 14.

2024 GNAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year Haytham Ramadan (Khartoum, Sudan) was the Monks' mid-distance leader this spring, as he posted league-best times in the 800m (1:58.91) and 1500m (4:10.68) while also producing the second-best GNAC time in the 5K at 16:35.99. All of his best times were set at the 2024 GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships as he took gold in each event. He also the anchor of the Monks' 4x800m relay team, which also took gold. He won two GNAC Rookie of the Week honors (weeks ending March 31 and April 14).

2024 GNAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Year Audrey Bilodeau (Lewiston, Maine) was the top hurdler in the conference this year, posting league-best times in both the 100m and 400m hurdles. She was the GNAC Champion in both events, with respective times of 16.20 and 1:07.30. She was a New England Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship qualifier in both events and posted her best 400m hurdle time at the meet with a 1:06.40. Bilodeau was also a competitor on the Monks relay teams. She was the Track Athlete and Rookie of the Week in the week ending March 31.

Saint Joseph's placed third with 129 points and won six events in the 2024 GNAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which was hosted by Regis College on Sunday, April 28th.
