2008 Men's Cross Country Season Preview

The 2008 St. Joe's men's cross country team returns 12 runners from last season's GNAC Championship Runner-Up squad. Head Coach Tom Dann (11th season, 13th overall) will look to a strong core of upperclassmen to help set the tone for an eager incoming class.

2007 GNAC Runner of the Year and GNAC Champion Ryan Prescott ‘09 (Pittsfield, NH), who achieved a career-best time of 26:15 in the 2007 NCAA Regionals, returns for his senior season and second year as a team captain. Prescott worked diligently in the offseason and appears poised to post a stellar final campaign for the Monks.

Senior Kevin McKim (North Attleboro, MA) and sophomore Jeremy Allen (Rutland, VT) also will serve as captains this season. Both are expected to bolster the Monks bid for a GNAC title in ‘08 along with fellow returners Joe Crocker ‘10 (Saco, ME) and Tony Myatt ‘09 (Portland, ME).

Newcomers that Coach Dann expects to contribute this season include Vincent Micucci ‘09 (Yarmouth, ME), Bobby Britten ‘12 (Scarborough, ME) and Andrew Mockler ‘12 (Saco, ME).

St. Joe's will open the 2008 season on Saturday, September 6th at 11:30 AM on their home course in a tri-meet with University of New England Southern Maine. Saint Joseph's is set to host the GNAC Championship Meet on Saturday, November 1st.
