GNAC Champion Prescott Named Runner of the Week

STANDISH, ME - For the fourth time this season, senior Ryan Prescott (Pittsfield, NH) has been named the GNAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Prescott ran away from the rest of the field at the GNAC Championship, hosted by Saint Joseph's College on November 1st, becoming only the third multiple winner in conference history. He also broke the course record, which he set earlier this year, by 48 seconds with a time of 26:53 to win the meet for the second consecutive year.

With the individual victory, Prescott was named the GNAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year for the second straight season.

Dating back to his sophomore season, Prescott has finished as the top SJC runner in 19 consecutive races. The senior has won four meets and finished in the top ten 19 times in his career at St. Joe's.

Besides being named GNAC Runner of the Week four times, Prescott has received league honor roll mention three times.

The Saint Joseph's cross country teams will travel to Bristol, RI on Saturday, November 8th to participate in the ECAC Championships. The women's race begins at 11:00 AM with the men to follow at 12:00 PM.
