CUMBERLAND, ME - The Saint Joseph's men's cross
country team earned a sixth place finish with 179 points in the
State of Maine Championships on Saturday afternoon.
Ryan Prescott '09 (Pittsfield,
NH) paced the Monks and toured the 8K Twin Brooks course in
27:30.46 to finish 23rd overall. Tyler Jasud from Southern Maine
won the event with a time of 25:47.82.
The Bowdoin College team placed first with 34 teams points as they
had three of the top six runners in the meet. Southern Maine placed
second with 42 points and Bates College earned 52 points to place
third.
Jeremy Allen '10 (Rutland, VT)
was the second SJC runner to cross the finish line in 48th place
with a time of 28:50.87 and Bobby
Britten '12 (Scarborough, ME) wasn't far behind,
placing 50th and running the race in 28:57.70, which ties his
career-best effort. Vincent
Micucci '09 (Yarmouth, ME) ran the course in
20:08.44 and finished 57th overall.
Saint Joseph's will host the GNAC Championships for the second
consecutive year on November 1st. The women's race begins at 11:00
AM with the men to follow at 12:00 PM.
