Men's Cross Country Places 40th at ECAC Championship

WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – The Saint Joseph's College men's cross country team placed 40th with 1113 points in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) DIII Cross Country Championship at Mount Grelock Regional Middle School on Saturday.

Sophomore Faisal Abdillahi (Lewiston, Maine) paced the Monks and finished 97th overall with a 28:58 time in the 8K race. Matt Boucher '15 (Augusta, Maine) (31:39, 234th), Andrew Mockler '12 (Saco, Maine) (31:49, 237th), Jeff Merrill '15 (Fitchburg, Mass.) (35:10, 283rd), and Robert Travers '15 (Lebanon, Maine) (46:15, 300th) also competed in the annual event for Saint Joseph's.

New England College sophomore Antoine Gisore collected individual honors after touring the course in 26:10, nine seconds ahead of Middlebury's Patrick Hebble.

Williams College, which placed three runners in the top five, earned the team victory with 44 points, well ahead of runner-up Tufts University (77 points). Middlebury finished third with 102 team points.

Saint Joseph's will compete in the NCAA DIII Regional Championship in Brunswick, Maine next Saturday at 12:00 PM.
