BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Bowdoin College Invitational on Saturday. The men placed 10th with 279 points in the 8K race.
Tufts University topped the 12-team field with 27 points while Bowdoin placed second with 53 points and Suffolk University was third with 92 points. Babson College (96) and Colby College (154) rounded out the top five teams on the men's side.
Tufts junior Walter Wagude won the race with a 25:09.6 time, six seconds ahead of runner-up Anthony Rodriguez of Babson.
Two SJC female runners competed in the 6K race, as sophomore Hannah Vacco placed 84th with a 30:57.2 performance and sophomore Lindy Hyndman was 90th with a 31:38.6 effort
FOR THE MONKS:
- Senior Devin Abbott (Berwick, Maine) paced the Monks with a 28:52.6 time, good for 73rd overall
- Grad student Troy Hendricks (Hiram, Maine) was right behind his teammate with a 28:53.0 time
- Junior Nick Carmosino (Acton, Mass.) finished 93rd with a 30:53.3 effort
- Sophomore Ethan Shaw (Scarborough, Maine) was 98th (31:29.1)
- Sophomore Ryan Graham (Hopkinton, N.H.) placed 99th (31:46.7)
- Junior Andrew Martin (Sanford, Maine) was 101st (32:10.3)
