Rivier College clinched first place with an outstanding conference record of 23-1, and overall record of 29-2. The Raiders pulled through a key victory on Tuesday over St. Joe's to obtain the top spot in the tournament. The 2010 team has posted the highest record in school history.
Saint Joseph's earned a second place finish with a conference record of 21-3, and an overall record of 28-8. The Monks gave the Raiders their only conference loss of the regular season in Tuesday night's game.
Emerson earned their third place seeding with a conference record of 20-4 and an overall record of 25-9. The Lions had a huge win on the road against second seeded St. Joseph's Maine to deliver the Monks two of their three losses in the conference.
Simmons took a fourth place finish with a record of 16-8 in the conference and 21-10 overall. Earlier in the season, the Sharks put up a tough fight against top seeded Rivier which turned into an 8 innning game.
The top four teams in the eight team tournament each receive a bye through single elimination. Rounding out the final four spots in the GNAC tournament are #5 Lasell (15-9, 19-19-1), #6 St. Joseph's (CT) (14-10, 22-15), #7 Mount Ida (10-14, 17-18) and #8 Norwich (9-15, 12-22).
