Softball Outfielders Honored by GNAC

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College Softball outfielders Emily Leverone '12 (Hampton, NH) and Danyelle Shufelt '13 (Sutton, VT) have been listed on the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll.

Leverone helped the Monks post a 4-0 record, as well as up the team's winning streak to 23 games, last week by hitting .600 (9-15) with an astounding 1.400 slugging percentage. She went 3-3 with a run, three RBI, a double and a triple in the nightcap against Simmons on April 12th and was 6-8 with five runs, eight RBI and three home runs in a twinbill against Lasell on April 14th.

Shufelt hit .333 (5-15) with seven runs scored and four RBI for the Royal Blue in four games last week. She drove in three runs with her first NCAA home run in a win over Simmons on April 12th and scored twice in three of four contests during the reporting period.

St. Joe's earned the #2 seed in the GNAC Tournament and will host two quarterfinal contests on Friday. The first game at Ward Park (#7 Mount Ida/#6 St. Joseph (Conn.) winner vs. #3 Emerson) will begin at 2:00 PM and the Monks will take on the winner at 4:00 PM.
