Hendrix Collects Fourth GNAC Rookie of the Week Honor

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's sophomore Theresa Hendrix (Scarborough, Maine/Cheverus) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Hendrix tossed the first seven-inning perfect game in SJC Softball history in a 2-0 win over GNAC Tournament qualifier Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Saturday and won both of her starts with 11 K's in 14 innings last week. Hendrix tossed just 68 pitches and saw just two three-ball counts in the perfect game victory.

The first-year standout has emerged as a top pitching option for the Monks, but her largest contributions have come with the bat this spring. Hendrix currently leads the team in slugging percentage (.765), OBP (.487), triples (7) and walks (15) and enters the upcoming GNAC Tournament hitting .408 (40-98) with 28 runs, nine doubles, four home runs and 29 RBI.

Saint Joseph's hosts a pair of GNAC Tournament contests at Richard W. Bailey Field on Friday afternoon. #6 Norwich University and #3 Simmons College will square off at 2:00 PM and the Monks, the #2 seed in the tourney, will play the Norwich/Simmons winner at 4:00 PM.
