STANDISH, Maine – Head Coach Margot Cosentino is pleased to announce the men's and women's alpine skiing Class of 2024.
Cosentino, who completed her second year at the helm for the Monks as they competed as a first-year varsity program last winter, is bringing in seven accomplished skiers this fall. By way of a tireless recruiting approach, Coach Cosentino is rapidly building a contender in the Reynolds Division of the United States Collegiate Ski & Snowboard Association (USCSA), as the 2024 class looks to help the Monks achieve great success in the near future. Four women and three men will hit the slopes for St. Joe's this coming winter as both the men's and women's sides look to place in events for the first time in the program's young history.
"I'm excited to be welcoming the largest class yet for the alpine ski program," adds Cosentino. "This group of student-athletes brings a lot of experience and talent with them which will be a great addition to our current team. As we continue to grow our program, these incoming freshmen will play an important role in paving the way. The uniqueness of their spring semester has allowed this group of freshmen a chance to start building relationships early, so when they step on campus in the fall they will already have a close group of friends. I'm thrilled to welcome them to campus this fall and even more excited to see what they do on the mountain!"
The Monks return their entire roster for the upcoming season, including four All-Reynolds Division athletes in first-teamer Annie Cerminaro (Unityville, Pa.) and second-team honorees Jillian Luby (Wolfeboro, N.H.), Sarah Lachance (Auburn, Maine) and Sarah Hotchkiss (New Durham, N.H.). Rising sophomore Tucker Davis (South Berwick, Maine) will help lead the men's side while he continues to show tremendous upside on the mountain.
Under Cosentino's watch last winter, the Monks enjoyed a stellar season as a first-year varsity program with five third-place finishes as a member of the Reynolds Division. Saint Joseph's capped the 2020 campaign with an appearance in the 2020 USCSA Eastern Regional Championships, which were held at Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, Maine on February 22nd and 23rd.

Erica Irvin Why Saint Joseph's? I loved how welcome I felt the minute I stepped on campus. I love the lake. SJC is perfect for my major. I am also able to continue my passions for both ski racing and lacrosse. Overall, the school felt like home. Maeghan Perkins Why Saint Joseph's? I decided to attend SJC because I felt at home as soon as I stepped foot on campus. I love that everyone knows everyone and how much everyone supports one another. I also loved that I would be able to continue my athletics at the collegiate level as well as further my education in such a supportive environment. High School: Participated in alpine skiing slalom and giant slalom as well as soccer at Leavitt Area High School…Earned the Coaches' Award twice in skiing and once in soccer…Placed seventh at the state slalom meet…Claimed All-Academic honors, Highest Honors, and a member of the National Honor Society.
