FARMINGTON, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College women's alpine ski team won a pair of races at Titcomb Mountain on Sunday. The Monks topped the giant slalom field with nine place points and a 2:55.25 total time and won the slalom race with 10 points and a 3:55.82 team time.
UMaine-Farmington finished second in both races after tallying 12 place points and a 2:55.59 composite time in the giant slalom and 13 points with a 3:56.92 total time in the slalom event.
In the giant slalom race, sophomore Maddie Zordan (New Hartford, Conn.) notched the first victory of her college career with a 57.61 (28.94, 28.67) performance, just ahead of teammate Courtney Pingree (Marblehead, Mass.), who placed second with a 58.07 (29.70, 28.37) time.
UMF's Grace Mahmood filled out the podium with a 58.26 time and third-place finish.
Zordan and Pingree duplicated their opening performance by placing first (1:16.63) and second (1:17.40), respectively, in the slalom race while UMF's Hokulani Caroselli finished third with a 1:17.75 effort.
GIANT SLALOM:
- Sophomore Maddie Zordan (New Hartford, Conn.) notched the first victory of her college career with a 57.61 (28.94, 28.67) performance
- Junior Courtney Pingree (Marblehead, Mass.) placed second with a 58.07 (29.70, 28.37) time
- Junior Erica Irvin (Windham, N.H.) finished sixth with a 59.57 (30.73, 28.84) effort
- Junior Maeghan Perkins (Turner, Maine) finished 13th (1:02.69, 32.40 – 30.29)
- Freshman Sienna Mack (Lincoln, N.H.) was 14th (1:02.76, 31.89 – 30.87)
- Sophomore Lillian Souweine (Bangor, Maine) placed 17th (1:03.83, 32.37 – 31.46)
SLALOM:
- Zordan earned her second victory of the day with a 1:16.63 (37.36, 39.27) effort
- Pingree placed second for the second-consecutive event with a 1:17.40 (38.30, 39.10) time
- Perkins placed ninth with a 1:21.79 (40.38, 41.41) performance
- Mack was 10th (1:22.38, 41.30 – 41.08)
- Irvin finished 14th (1:24.44, 42.00 – 42.44)
- Souweine placed 23rd (1:32.07, 45.45 – 46.62)

The Monks close out the 2023 regular season docket next Saturday with a giant slalom race at Sugarloaf. The event is set to start at 10:00 AM.
