Cunha Claims Conference Recognition

STANDISH, Maine – The GNAC weekly accolades have been announced and Saint Joseph's College senior Michelle Cunha (Enfield, Conn.) has been selected as the GNAC Women's Lacrosse Goalkeeper of the Week.

Cunha was excellent in goal for the Monks in an 11-7 win over UMass.-Dartmouth on Saturday, as the senior keeper stopped 11 of the 18 shots she faced with a 61.1% save percentage in the victory. The weekly conference honor is the first of her collegiate career.

Through three games this spring, Cunha sports a 5.89 goals against average with a .561 save percentage. She has recorded 23 saves with 18 goals allowed in 183:27 between the pipes.

Saint Joseph's (2-1) is set to host University of Southern Maine tomorrow evening in a 6:00 PM start at Deering Memorial Stadium.
