Dexter Picked as GNAC Player of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been announced and Saint Joseph's College graduate Lydia Dexter (Oakland, Maine) has been named as the GNAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the second time this spring.

Dexter enjoyed another terrific week with eight goals and seven assists for 15 total points along with five ground balls and four draw controls in a pair of GNAC triumphs. The grad student attacker notched three goals and three assists and became the Monks' all-time points leader in a win over Lasell on Wednesday and registered five goals, four assists, four ground balls, and three draw controls in a victory at Elms College on Saturday.

In 12 games this spring Dexter has scored 54 goals with 32 assists for a total of 86 points while picking up 34 ground balls, 29 draw controls, and 14 caused turnovers. She currently leads the GNAC in points and ranks second in goals, shots (104), and shots on goal (83), third in assists, and seventh in free-position goals (9).

The GNAC weekly award is Dexter's second of the season and 10th of her collegiate career. She earned the same honor on March 6th, 2023.

As of April 9th, Dexter is ranked third in NCAA DIII Women's Lacrosse in points, fifth in points per game (7.2), ninth in goals, 14th in assists, and 15th in goals per game (4.5). Among all active DIII players, she fourth in career points (330) and assists (147), seventh in points per game (5.79), ninth in assists per game (2.58), 11th in goals (183), and 12th in ground balls (160).

Saint Joseph's will host Regis College on Wednesday in a GNAC matchup set to start at 6:00 PM.
