SAINT JOSEPH'S WINS WOMEN'S SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP

STANDISH, MAINE - First-year Katie Jordan (Sandwich, MA) scored her 12th goal of the season in the 51st minute on a penalty kick and earned honors as Most Outstanding Player as the Monks (12-6) defeated Green Mountain College 4-0 in the DIII Independents Championship match this afternoon.

First-year Megan Willette (Waterville, ME) notched two first-half goals to give St. Joe's a comfortable lead and Jordan's goal made it 3-0. Senior Danielle McLaughlin (Skowhegan, ME) scored the final goal of the game as Willette assisted in the 57th minute.

Junior keeper Krista Wotherspoon (New Gloucester, ME) had 4 saves in her eighth win and 6th shutout of the season while sophomore Claire Davis (Newark, DE) had 7 saves for the Eagles (12-5).
