SJC Women’s Soccer Edged by Colby

Standish, ME -A 2-1 loss to Colby today snapped St. Joe's three-game winning streak and puts them at 6-4 while the Mules improve to 6-0-2 overall. Senior Libba Cox (Guilford, CT) picked up a pair of assists for Colby.

The Mules got on the board at 10:06 as Cox sent a corner kick to senior Laura Williamson (Manchester, CT) who knocked it in for a 1-0 lead. Colby held the advantage in first half shots (7-4) and corner kicks (10-0).

In the 54th minute, Cox headed a cross to the far side of the 18 and junior Katie McCabe (Watertown, CT) drilled the shot to make it 2-0. St. Joe's keeper Monica Cuda (Everett, MA) made a tremendous effort to stop the shot, getting a hand on it, but the ball found the corner of the goal.
