Standish, ME - For the first time in the history of the program, the Saint Joseph's College women's soccer team will be competing in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships.
The Monks are seeded eighth in the eight-team tournament and
play first seed Smith College at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November
8th at Smith College. The winner will advance to play the winner of
the Brandeis/Rhode Island College match-up on Saturday, November
11th with the Championship match on Sunday, November 12th at the
highest remaining seed.
Saint Joseph's College enters the match with a record of 11-8 this
season while Smith will bring a mark of 11-7-1 into the
contest.
The Monks made the DIII Independents Championships for the third
straight season but fell to Green Mountain College in the
semi-final. Sophomore Megan Willette (Waterville,
ME) leads the Monks this season with 14 goals and six assists for
34 points and sophomore Katie Jordan (Sandwich,
MA) has 8 goals and two assists for 18 points. Senior co-captain
Michelle Crisp (Dedham, MA) has added 7 goals for
14 points.
Smith College was defeated by Wheaton College in the NEWMAC
Championship on Sunday, November 5th.
