Standish, ME - A two-goal first half lifted the Eagles to a 3-1 victory over Saint Joseph's College on Sunday. Husson College improves to 3-1-1 and the Monks stand at 2-2 on the season.
Junior Shelby Morissette (Londonderry, NH) put the Eagles up at 7:22 scoring off a pass by senior Danielle Billings (Hampden, ME). Sophomore Samantha Homer (Charlton, MA) netted the game winner off a pass from sophomore Shelby Pickering (Lee, ME) in the 32nd minute.
The Monks closed the gap six minutes into the second half as sophomore Katie Jordan (Sandwich, MA) scored her third goal of the season off a pass from first year Anna Willis (Gorham, ME).
Pickering added an insurance goal at 55:21 for the final goal of the match.
First-year goalkeeper Monica Cuda (Everett, MA) had 3 saves in the loss and senior Leah Drew (Caribou, ME) had 6 saves for Husson.
