Monks Post 4-0 Win over NEC

Henniker, NH - The women's soccer team beat New England College 4-0 yesterday and improves to 8-5 on the season. Sophomore Megan Willette (Waterville, ME) and first year Lauren Hagerman (Scarborough, ME) scored two goals apiece to give the Monks the win.

After twenty scoreless minutes, Hagerman drilled a shot to put St. Joe's up 1-0. This would be the only goal of the half with the Monks out-shooting the Pilgrims 9-3.

Willette scored off a free kick 15 minutes into the second half to give St. Joe's a 2-0 edge and added another unassisted goal at 78:22 to stretch the lead to three. Hagerman netted her second goal of the afternoon in the 83rd minute to seal the victory.

First year Monica Cuda (Everett, MA) earned the shut-out win with five saves and sophomore Caitlin Foley (Wilmington, MA), back from an injury, turned in a strong performance for the Monks.

The team plays at Brandeis (MA) on Saturday, October 21st at 2:00 p.m.
