Gorham, ME- The Saint Joseph's College women's soccer squad defeated Southern Maine 2-1 as first-year Heidi Strucki (Oakland, ME) scored the game winner off a cross by FY Brianna Jordan (Scarborough, ME) in the 84th minute.
The Huskies struck first with a goal by sophomore Caitlin Brown (Camden, ME) off a corner kick at 9:44, but the Monks evened the score as sophomore Katie Jordan (Sandwich, MA) netted the rebound of her own shot in the 37th minute.
FY goalkeeper Monica Cuda (Everett, MA) had 4 saves in the win while FY Anna Willis (Gorham, ME) gave the Monks offense a much-needed boost in front of her home town crowd.
