Waterville, ME - St. Joe's GK SO Katie
Mayo (Fairfield, ME) and Colby College GK Loni Pisani
(Kanata, Canada) each notched shutouts as the Monks and the Mules
faced off in a 0-0 tie in non-conference action Wednesday
afternoon.
Mayo made 7 saves while posting her 5th shutout of the season for
the SJC Women. Colby's Pisani was credited with 11 saves in her 4th
shutout bid of the year. The visiting Monks (12-1-1, 8-1-0 GNAC)
held the shot advantage, 17-15, as well as the edge in corner
kicks, 6-5, over the hometown Mules (3-5-2). Before Wednesday's
game Colby College had never lost against or tied the Monks. They
held an 11-0 record vs. SJC since the teams began playing each
other.
FY Mikayla Call (Portland, ME) and
SO Brianna Jordan (Scarborough, ME) each posted
four shots on net while teammate SO Lauren
Hagerman (Scarborough, ME) had three shots in the
match.
SJC Women's Soccer plays host to GNAC opponent St. Joseph College
(CT) on Saturday, 10/13. Game time is 1:00 PM.
