Newton, MA - The St. Joe's women's soccer team continues to
impress as the best start in program history continues with a 1-0
win at Mount Ida College. The Monks are now 7-0 overall and 3-0 in
the GNAC.
FY Mikayla Call (Portland, ME) notched her seventh
goal of the season on a through ball to put the St. Joe's up less
than two minutes into the match and the contest went into the
second half with the Monks leading 1-0.
The one goal would hold up for Saint Joseph's to end the game.
Mount Ida had a chance in the final minutes to tie the score with a
direct kick at the top of the box, but could not convert.
SO keeper Katye Mayo (Fairfield, ME) had two saves
for the Monks.
St. Joe's plays at Simmons in Boston on Sunday, September 23rd at
1:00 PM in yet another GNAC clash.
