STANDISH, ME - Katie
Jordan ‘09 (Sandwich, MA) scored a goal and
added an assist in to lift Saint Joseph's (8-4-1, 6-2-1 GNAC) to a
2-0 non-conference triumph over University of Maine at Farmington
(6-5, 4-1 NAC) on Thursday afternoon. Katye
Mayo ‘10 (Fairfield, ME) made two saves in
net to post her fifth shutout of the year.
Jordan commenced the game scoring at the 7:32 mark
when she netted the eventual game-winning marker on a penalty shot.
The 1-0 lead stood going into the intermission.
Fourteen minutes into the second half, Mikayla
Call ‘11 (Portland, ME/McAuley) notched her
team-leading 11th goal of the fall on a breakaway that was set up
by a Katie Jordan pass.
The Lady Monks outshot the Beavers 8-5 and held a 3-1 corner kick
advantage in the victory.
Whitney Linindoll ‘11
(Paris, ME) registered two shots in the win and the shutout bid by
Mayo gives her 12 for her career and sole
possession of third place on the all-time list behind Karen
Rogers ‘95 (31) and Kendra Brown
‘01 (35).
Chelsea Norton 11 (Westbrook, ME) had three shots and UMF keeper
McKell Barnes 11 (Durham, ME) made two saves in the loss.
Farmington will play at Thomas College on Saturday, October 18th
while Saint Joseph's will host the Terriers, in non-conference
action, on Sunday at 12:00 PM.
