Women's Soccer Honored for Academic Excellence

STANDISH, ME - The Saint Joseph's College Women's Soccer team is one of 439 programs across the country to earn a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award.

A total of 634 soccer teams (195 men, 439 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2009-10 academic year.

St. Joe's, now a two-time NSCAA Academic Team Award recipient, is one of five Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Soccer programs to gain the national honor. Emmanuel, Emerson, Johnson & Wales and Simmons also received recognition.

Saint Joseph's went 7-9-1 overall and 5-6-1 in GNAC contests in 2010 under seventh-year Head Coach Michael Bolanz '00.
