Women’s Soccer All-Conference Teams Released

STANDISH, ME - The 2011 All-GNAC teams have been released for women's soccer and two Saint Joseph's College players have been honored.

Senior defender Shannon Fitzgerald (Amesbury, Mass.) has collected First Team honors for the second time in her career and sophomore goalkeeper Jaci Lorenzen (Windham, Maine) is listed on the Second Team.

Fitzgerald, the 2009 GNAC Defensive Player of the Year, nets First Team accolades after starting all 17 games for the Monks. The senior captain helped St. Joe's post a 1.17 goals against average, the third-lowest mark in the conference, with just 21 goals allowed over 17 contests this fall.

Lorenzen made great strides in her second season at Saint Joseph's with significant improvements across the board statistically. The two-year starter posted a 1.19 goals against average with an .809 save percentage with six shutouts in 1585 minutes between the pipes en route to gaining her first GNAC All-Conference honor as sophomore.

After a one-year hiatus, Saint Joseph's (7-5-5, 6-3-4 GNAC) returned to the GNAC Tournament this fall but was bounced in the first round by eventual league champion Lasell College - a team the Monks had defeated earlier in the season. St. Joe's loses just three players to graduation heading into next season.
