Lorenzen Takes ECAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College senior goalkeeper Jaci Lorenzen (Windham, Maine) has been selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England NCAA DIII Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Lorenzen has been a game-changer for the Monks this fall and continued her high level of play in a pair of games over the weekend, when she logged nearly 156 minutes of one-goal soccer. The senior captain posted six stops in a 3-1 conference victory over University of Saint Joseph on Saturday and steered away a pair of shots in 65 shutout minutes versus University of Maine-Presque Isle on Sunday.

As of October 3rd, Lorenzen ranks as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference leader in goals against average (0.41), save percentage (.895), victories (9) and shutouts (7). She has allowed only four goals this in 883:06 minutes in goal this fall.

Lorenzen is the second Saint Joseph's College women's soccer player to earn ECAC weekly honors, as she joins her junior teammate Danielle Daigle (Dayton, Maine) who collected ECAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades on October 15th, 2012.

Currently riding a seven-game winning streak, Saint Joseph's (9-1-0, 4-0-0 GNAC) will play at Albertus Magnus College on Saturday in a GNAC match slated to start at 1:00 PM.
