Lorenzen Named GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week

STANDISH, ME – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior Jaci Lorenzen (Windham, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this fall.

Lorenzen continued to play at an elite level in a pair of victories last week. The four-year starter made five saves in a 6-1 victory over Rivier University on Monday and followed up with a 28-save performance in a 1-0 double-overtime triumph over Simmons College on Saturday. With the effort against the Sharks, Lorenzen shattered the SJC women's soccer single-game saves record (20), which stood for 11 years.

As of October 22nd, Lorenzen leads the conference in minutes (1326:42), goals against average (0.68), victories (13) and shutouts (8) and also ranks second in save percentage (.890).

Over four seasons, Lorenzen has started and played in 66 contests with a 34-20-8 record and 26 shutouts. In 6,083 minutes between the pipes, she has made 352 saves with 76 goals allowed for an .822 save percentage and a 1.12 goals against average.

A two-time All-Conference honoree, Lorenzen currently ranks third in program history in goalkeeper games, minutes, saves and shutouts and is fourth all-time in victories.

Prior to Lorenzen's effort versus Simmons, the Monks' single-match saves record was held by Cheryl Northrup '05, who made 20 stops in a 6-0 loss to Endicott College on October 19th, 2002.

Saint Joseph's will host GNAC-rival Suffolk University on Wednesday at 3:30 PM.
