Lorenzen Collects NSCAA All-New England Honors

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's College women's soccer senior goalkeeper Jaci Lorenzen (Windham, Maine) has garnered 2013 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Women's All-New England Region accolades.

Lorenzen, a Fourth Team selection, collects regional acclaim after posting a 0.84 goals against average with nine shutouts while starting all 19 games for the Monks this past fall. The senior captain posted an .874 save percentage with 111 saves and 16 goals allowed in 1,707 minutes between the pipes during the 2013 campaign.

Lorenzen led all Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) keepers in goals against average, wins (15) and shutouts and was second in the conference in save percentage as a senior. She is the first Saint Joseph's women's soccer player to earn NSCAA regional honors since Jillian Leger '08 collected First Team acclaim in 2007.

The two-year captain claimed a pair of All-Conference honors during her career and was selected as the ECAC DIII New England Defensive Player of the week twice during her senior season.

A four-year starter, Lorenzen capped her collegiate career having played in 70 contests – all starts – while posting a 1.14 goals against average, 382 saves, 27 shutouts and an .823 save percentage over the last four seasons. She posted a 36-21-9 record and logged 6,463 minutes in net during her career.

She finished her NCAA career ranked third in SJC women's soccer history in games, minutes, saves and shutouts and is also fourth in victories, seventh in goals against average and eighth in save percentage.

Lorenzen is the only GNAC goalkeeper and one of just six players from the Monks' primary conference to earn the regional honor. Albertus Magnus College seniors Shannon Skidmore and Shelly Mirmina, Lasell College juniors Bridget and Kayla Lynch and Suffolk senior Miranda Taylor also collected (NSCAA)/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Women's All-New England Region accolades.

Saint Joseph's went 15-3-1 overall and 9-2 in GNAC play under the watch of first-year Head Coach Jenelle Harris this fall. The Monks earned the #3 seed in the GNAC Tournament, but suffered a heartbreaking sudden-victory loss at the hands of sixth-seeded Suffolk in the opening round of the conference tourney.
