STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors have been released and two Saint Joseph's College women's soccer players have earned awards.
Junior forward Haley DaGraca (Saco, Maine) has been chosen as the GNAC Corvias Player of the Week and senior keeper Brooke Troup (East Bridgewater, Mass.) has been named as the GNAC Corvias Goalie of the Week.
DaGraca enjoyed a terrific week with five goals in a pair of GNAC victories for the Monks. In a 4-2 triumph over Simmons College on Wednesday, the junior standout scored three goals and broke the SJC all-time goals record with the 46th of her career. DaGraca lifted the Monks to a 2-1-comeback win at Albertus Magnus College on Saturday with a pair of second-half goals.
Troup helped lead Saint Joseph's to a pair of conference wins last week with a 1.50 goals against average and an .850 save percentage in 180 minutes. The senior captain made 17 total saves, with 10 in a 4-2 triumph over Simmons College on Wednesday and seven in a 2-1 win over Albertus Magnus College on Saturday.
Through 15 games this season, DaGraca has netted 15 goals with three assists for 33 total points to go with four game-winning tallies. She currently ranks second in the conference in goals and points and is third in the GNAC in game-winners. She also leads the conference with 95 shots.
With her third goal in the win over Simmons, the junior standout surpassed SJC Hall of Fame inductee Cindy Kamszik '97, who netted 45 career goals, on the Monks' all-time goals list. In 51 career contests, DaGraca has scored 48 goals with nine assists for 105 total points with 13 game-winners.
Surprisingly, the GNAC Player of the Week honor is a career-first for DaGraca, who was named as the GNAC Player of the Year last fall and has a pair of First Team All-Conference nods to her credit.
Troup is 10-4-1 on the season with four shutouts and sports a 0.94 goals against average through 15 contests. She holds a .794 save percentage with 54 saves and 14 goals allowed in 1,335 minutes between the pipes. She currently leads the GNAC in minutes, ranks second in goals against average, wins, and shutouts, and fifth in save percentage and fewest goals allowed.
For Troup, the conference keeper of the week honor is the second of her career and first since September 25th, 2016.
For her career, Troup owns a 33-24-6 record with 13 shutouts in 68 contests. The four-year starter has a 1.41 goals against average with a .784 save percentage and has allowed 87 goals with 316 saves in 5,536 minutes.
Saint Joseph's (10-4-1) returns to action Wednesday with a non-conference game at Thomas College starting at 7:00 PM.
