Smith Chosen as GNAC Rookie of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been released and Saint Joseph's College freshman forward Brenna Smith (Maynard, Mass.) has been named as the GNAC Corvias Women's Soccer Rookie of the Wee

Smith scored a goal in all three of the Monks' games last week, including the game-winner with 55 seconds remaining in a 1-0 triumph over Thomas College on Wednesday. The weekly conference honor is the first of her collegiate career.

Through 18 games, Smith has netted five goals with one assist for 11 total points. She ranks second on the team in goals and third in points.

Saint Joseph's (12-5-1, 8-3-1 GNAC) has earned the #4 seed in the GNAC Tournament and will host #5 University of Saint Joseph (CT) Saturday in a quarterfinal tilt scheduled for a 1:00 PM kick-off.
