Women's Soccer Earns #4 Seed in GNAC Tournament

WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference regular-season schedule came to a close on Wednesday evening as Johnson & Wales University topped Emmanuel College, 2-0, to nail down the No. 2 seed in the GNAC Women's Soccer Tournament, which kicks off on Saturday, October 28 with quarterfinal action. Emmanuel still cemented the No. 3 seed in the playoffs, while longtime conference power Lasell College clinched the top seed with a key victory over JWU this past weekend.

Three GNAC Tournament Quarterfinal contests on Saturday will kick off at 1:00 PM, as Lasell will host eighth-seeded Suffolk University, Emmanuel will welcome cross-street Fenway rival and sixth-seeded Simmons College, and fourth-seeded Saint Joseph's College of Maine will host fifth-seeded University of Saint Joseph (Conn.).

The GNAC Semifinal round is scheduled for Tuesday, October 31 on Halloween, with the winners advancing to the GNAC Championship contest on Saturday, November 4 at the highest remaining seed, with an automatic berth to the 2017 NCAA Division III Tournament on the line.
