Grogan Named GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been released and Saint Joseph's College sophomore Adia Grogan (Kennebunk, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week.

Grogan was outstanding with a 0.50 goals against average and a .938 save percentage in nearly 180 minutes last week. The sophomore keeper carried the Monks to a 2-1 victory over Johnson & Wales on Saturday with 14 saves and one goal allowed - a PK tally - in 97:08 minutes to extend the SJC undefeated streak to nine games and end the JWU win streak at 12 contests.

In 16 games this fall, Grogan has made 84 saves and allowed just 11 goals in 1,453 minutes – numbers that translate into a 0.68 goals against average and an .884 save percentage. She currently leads the conference in fewest goals allowed, goals against average, save percentage and victories (12).

For Grogan, the GNAC weekly honor is the third of her career. She was chosen as the GNAC Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Week on October 15th, 2018. In two college seasons she owns a 27-6-2 record with nine shutouts, a 0.99 goals against average, and an .843 save percentage with 188 saves – and 35 goals allowed – in 3,191 minutes.

Saint Joseph's closes out the 2019 regular season with a conference contest at Lasell University tomorrow at 2:30 PM. Due to wet weather conditions, the game has been moved to Brandeis College.
