ON THIS DATE: Theberge Named as the First SJC Women’s Soccer GNAC Rookie of the Week

On September 24th, 2007 Saint Joseph's College freshman Elizabeth Theberge (Danvers, Mass.) became the first SJC women's soccer player to collect Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week honors.

Theberge earned the weekly accolade after netting the game-winning goal in a 3-0 victory over Simmons on September 23rd. The first-year midfielder was also credited with an assist in the conference triumph.

Theberge was a four-year starter for the Monks and capped her career in 2010 having played in 70 games with eight goals – including three game-clinchers – and nine assists for 25 total points. She claimed First Team All-Conference honors following her freshman season and collected Second Team All-GNAC accolades her senior year.
