Murphy & Smith Earn United Soccer Coaches Player Of Distinction Awards

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College departed seniors McKenzie Murphy (West Baldwin, Maine) and Brenna Smith (Maynard, Mass.) have earned United Soccer Coaches Player of Distinction honors, as announced by the organization earlier this summer.

In order to earn the award, student-athletes must:

  • Player(s) has achieved quality performance on the field;
  • Represented the highest ideals of team leadership;
  • Exhibited quality character attributes including sportsmanship and respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the game in general;
  • Made other significant contributions to the benefit of the program and the community.
  • The United Soccer Coaches created the award this spring to extend opportunities for its college members to recognize their significant student-athletes and their respective contributions to their programs.
