Monks 38th After First Day of NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, MA - The St. Joe's Golf team is sitting in 38th place, with 362 team strokes, after the first round of the 75th Annual NEIGA Championship. T.J. Garske '12 (Federal Way, WA) leads the Monks and carded an 86 (44-42) on the first day of the two-day event.

Darmouth College leads the field of 39 New England colleges and universities with a collective team score of 291, just two strokes ahead of Central Connecticut. Davis Mullany of Darmouth shot a 67 on the par-72 course and holds a two shot lead over Bob Bruso of Worcester State after the first day of action.

Matt Cotreau '10 (Lunenberg, MA) carded a 90 (47-43), while Steve Sands '10 (Westbrook, ME) and Michael Patrick '11 (Wells, ME) both shot a 93 for the day.
